I traveled through China with my mother, a Chinese woman born in Utah.  Neither of us had visited before.  We saw a country with a deeply rooted history and a stark realism. China's beauty isn't ornate or glittery. It's rooted in realism and encompasses all elements of life, both good and bad.

When you look through the window at the moon shadows, you get homesick.
